1. Employment Opportunities for Graduates

We offer opportunities for graduates in Geology, Civil Engineering, Geophysics, Earth Sciences or a related discipline to develop a career in Geotechnical Engineering.

As a Geotechnical Engineer / Engineering Geologist you will be carrying out routine onshore and nearshore ground investigation activities including logging rock and soil samples, supervising fieldwork activities, checking field data and preparing reports for a diverse range of clients.

There is a comprehensive in-house training programme and you will be encouraged to achieve Chartered status.

Much of the work is site based, so flexibility and willingness to travel are essential. You must also have good communication skills and the ability to work as part of a team.

2. Opportunities for Experienced Geotechnical & Geo-environmental Engineers

Excellent opportunities are available for Experienced Geotechnical Engineers / Engineering Geologists.

A technically capable and commercially competent Principal Engineer is required to manage projects throughout the north of England, Scotland and Europe. Based in Wallingford, Oxfordshire or Consett, County Durham, you will be responsible for independently managing a portfolio of site investigation projects, directing, supervising and monitoring the technical aspects of fieldwork operations, laboratory testing, supervising a team of engineers and the timely preparation and submission of factual and engineering reports for clients.

Ideally you should have 8+ years post graduate experience including preparing desk studies, managing large and small ground investigations and preparing factual and interpretative reports for a wide range of projects within the building, civil engineering, water and mining sectors. Chartered status would be an advantage.

As a Senior Engineer we are able to offer you the opportunity to extend your experience, knowledge and management skills as part of your career development through independently managing a variety of site investigation projects. You will have responsibility for planning and supervising field work, supervising junior staff, managing reporting of laboratory and field data, and completion of factual and engineering reports for clients.

5+ years post graduate ground investigation experience, flexibility and willingness to travel on a regular basis to our diverse range of onshore and nearshore sites in the UK and overseas are essential. Working towards or having Chartered status would be an advantage.

As a Project Engineer you will be managing the daily activities of field work on a variety of site investigation projects in the UK and Europe, on a project by project basis. In addition to post graduate ground investigation experience you will need proven project management skills and commercial acumen.

Intermediate opportunities are also available for engineers with 2+ years post graduate site investigation experience.
