Fugro Engineering Services Ltd have extended their scope of UKAS accredition to ISO/IEC17025:2005 to include unexploded ordnance (UXO) detection for clearance of site investigations and piling using a tri-axial magnetometer.

ISO/IEC17025:2005 is a fully integrated element of FES's ISO9001 registered Quality Management System. The magnetometer is housed behind a piezocone meaning that it can mitigate against the risk of unexploded bombs on construction sites whilst also obtaining geotechnical data needed for pile design.
