In May 2008, the OHS Management System (OHSMS) of Fugro Engineering Services was registered to BS OHSAS18001:2007 Occupational Health & Safety Management Systems - Requirements (Certificate number LRQ 4004101). The scope of registration applies to the "investigation of and advice regarding the engineering, physical and chemical characteristics of the earth's subsurface materials and materials for construction".

Our chosen certification body for the OHSAS18001 registration process was LRQA (a member of the Lloyds Register Group). LRQA are, themselves, assessed by the United Kingdom Accreditation Service (UKAS, the sole national accreditation body recognised by government to assess organisations that provide certification) and their UKAS certificate number is 001.

Our OHSMS is a welcome addition to our existing Integrated Management System which integrates BS EN ISO9001:2000 Quality Management Systems - Requirements and BS EN ISO/IEC17025:2005 General requirements for the competence of testing and calibration laboratories.
