Fugro is the world leader in the development and application of CPT technology. CPT provides a rapid and cost effective means by which to quantify geotechnical and geo-environmental properties of sediments. We have a range of different cone types and a range of rigs for all ground conditions, both onshore and over water.

Fugro's in-situ probes are fitted with sensors and/or sample collection devices to continuously measure subsurface or ground water characteristics. These features allow the professional to immediately detect subtle changes in geological, geotechnical, hydrogeological and geo-environmental conditions. The data can be used with specialised software to produce contour maps or three-dimensional projections. These visual portrayals of subsurface stratigraphy or groundwater conditions are an effective way to illustrate in-situ conditions. Fugro has also pioneered the use of CPT in the marine environment.
