Detectable Contaminants

Investigative Techniques
Rapid Optical Screen Techniques (ROST)
- Real-time identification of aromatic hydrocarbons (Petrol, Diesel, Tar, etc.)
- Contaminant detection in free and dissolved phase
- Deployed from Fugro's CPT equipment
- No cross contamination during screening
- Speciation of contaminants using wavelength controlled laser light
- Probes can be trained to identify site-specific contaminants
Membrane Interface probe (MIP)
- Real-time identification of VOC's, e.g. BTEX, mineral oil hydrocarbons, chlorinated solvents
- Deployed from Fugro's static (CPT) and dynamic probing equipment
- Correlation between soil conditions and location of contaminants
- On-board GC with full set of detectors
- Gas sampling during screening process
- Quality controlled testing and sampling procedures
Geoenvironmental Sampling
We operate a complete range of geoenvironmental sampling rigs to cover a
variety of access and depth of sampling requirements.
AS well as our standard Cable Percussion and Rotary drill rigs our range of geoenvironmental sampling rigs
include GeoprobeTM, Terrier 2000, Commachio flight auger rigs. These rigs area capable of
- Fast, efficient soil sampling
- Contiguous samples taken in liners
- Gas or water sampling at required depths
- Installation of piezometers and monitoring wells
- High production rates (>30m/day)
- Ability to deploy screening probes
